Councihncmber Elvig introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br /> <br />RESOLUTION #04-05-131 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING REPLACEMENT OF (3) PRELIMINARY BREATH <br />TESTING INSTRUMENTS AND (2) CAMERAS FOR THE POLICE DEPARTMENT <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Police Department is in need of replacing (3) Alco-Sensor Breath <br />Testing Instruments and (1) Camera. The Police Department is also requesting the purchase of <br />(1) additional Digital Camera to meet its investigative needs; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, it has been determined that digital technology is the preferred method of <br />evide~tiary documentation in Anoka County with Olympus C~5000 cameras being the <br />recommended choice; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Ramsey has purchased their current digital cameras from <br />National Graphic Supply and staff would like to continue with this company and model available <br />at $460.03 each plus tax and shipping; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the State of Minnesota determines what breath testing instruments are <br />approved and Kustom Signal has this contract for $498.00 each plus tax and shipping; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, it has been determined that the entire requested purchases would not exceed <br />$2,620.00; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, it has been determined that $2,275.35 of these purchases can be funded <br />fi'om the Equipment Replacement Account, with the remaining amount coming out of the police <br />line item account 211-6249 (Misc. Operating. <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: <br /> <br />1) <br /> <br />That the Ramsey City Council hereby authorizes the purchase of (3) Preliminary Breath <br />Testing Instruments and (2) digital cameras not to exceed $2,620.00 with $2,275.35 to be <br />funded from the Equipment Replacement Fund with the remaining amount coming out of <br />the Police Department line item budget. <br /> <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember <br />Zimmennan, and upon vote being taken thereof, the following voted in favor thereof: <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec <br />Councilmember Elvig <br />Councihnember Zimmerman <br />Councilmember Cook <br />Councihnember Kurak <br />Councilmember Pearson <br />Councilmember Strommen <br /> <br /> <br />
