PROCEEDINGS OF CITY <br /> BOARD OF AD3U~ <br /> Fj~LIC <br /> CITY OF RAMSEY <br /> ANOKA <br /> STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />A Board of Adjustment public hearing was conducted on Tuesday, August 27, 1985 <br />at the R~nsey Municipal Center, 15153 Nowthen Blvd. N.W., Ramsey, Minnesota <br />regarding Mr. Edwin Christo~/~erson's request to build an acoessory structure <br />larger than allowed by City Gode. <br /> <br />Members Present: <br /> <br />Oouncilmenber Jean Schlueter, fhairperson <br />Mayor Gary ~eitman <br />(buncilmenber Arnie (Dx <br />Councilmmber A1 Sorteberg <br />Councilmmber Gary Reimann <br /> <br />Also Present: <br /> <br />City Administrator Lloyd Schnelle <br />City Attorney Willi~ Goodrich <br />Director of TedTnical Servioes Clayton Berg <br />City Planner Anne Norris <br />City Engineer Peter Raatikka <br />City Finance Officer Noel Graczyk <br />Reporter Angela Flint <br /> <br />I <br />I <br /> <br />Chairperson Schlueter called the public hearing to order at 8:10 p.m. <br /> <br />CITIZEN INPUT <br /> <br />Mr. ChristoIaherson was [xesent and stated that he has reviewed the findings of <br />fact and development agreement and has no proble~ with then. <br /> <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br /> <br />There was no citizen input. <br /> <br />Motion by Mayor Beitman arid seconded by Oouncilm~mber Sorteberg to adjourn this <br />public hearing. <br /> <br />Further Discussion: Councilm~mber Reimann stated that a lot of research went <br />into formulating an ordinance spelling out the all,able accessory structure <br />size according to lot size; would like a motion to table the board of <br />adjustment cases before Council tonight until Council can meet and decide <br />whether or not that ordinance is going to be enforced. Councilm~)er Reimann <br />stated that if the ordinance was adhered by, 95% of the requests for larger <br />accessory structures could be handled at City Staff level, ciu~ could save <br />$90 and Council would not be required to conduct all these board of adjustment <br />hearings. It is more respectful to let the citizens know from the beginning <br />just what City Council's position is in regards to the ordinance than to let <br />them sit at a Council meetin9 until 11..00 p.m. for a decision. Chairperson <br />Schlueter agreed with Councilm~mber Reimann but felt the board of adjustment <br />cases on tonight's agenda should be foll(~ed through in lieu of the fact that <br />the public hearings have been conducted.
