Several prevalent issues such as <br />groundwater protection, monitoring, and the need to develop alterna- <br />tive technologies for the disposal of so]id waste }]ave been brought to <br />the forefront by environmentalists, legislators and regulators. Issues <br />such as these are a reflection of society's re-evaluation of their pri- <br />orities which places the environment high on the list. <br /> <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br /> <br />Waste Management recognizes the importance of maintaining the environ- <br />ment but this can only be accomplished through research and development <br />of present-day technologies. We have been and will continue to earmark <br />significant portions of our budget toward the improvement of the current <br />State of the Art for land disposal.
