Mr. Johnson stated that there are buildings in his rmighborbood of similar size and material type. Mr. Johnson stated that the building would be used to store personal vehicles and would eliminate safety hazards to neighborhood children. Mr. Johnson stated that he has reoeived no negative o~nents frcm his neighbors regarding his request; one neighbor was lxesent tonight but had to leave; that neighbor has no objectio~s. Mr. Johnson stated that the building would be 200' from the neighbor' s lxoperty. Oouncilm~ber Reimann noted that City Ordinanoe limits acoessory building size to 624 square feet on p~rcels less than 2-1/2 acres; it's Mr. Johnson's proble~ if all his equitm~nt won't fit into an accessory k~{]ding of that size. Mr. Johnson irguired it Councilm~nber Reimann feels that it is better to have ~safe it~ns sitting in the open for ~hildren to get hurt on. Mr. Johnson noted that a neighbor has a nunber of junk cars on his IXoperty that nobody Mayor ~eitman stated that the rules have been, are and will continue to be in place; on the other hand, nobody showed up to oontest Mr. Johnson's request. fbuncilmember Reimann stated that the ordinanoe was written to lxevent a .cGessory buildings that look out of plaoe in relation to property size; the ordinance was intended to make the City's job easier and Staff .can inform applicants that the City lives by and enforoes the ordinance. Mrs. Johnson stated that the size of building they are requestin9 does not look out of proportion on their property. G~uncilm~ber Schlueter referred to It~n ~2 of the proposed develolm~ent agreement regarding the acoessory building structure being compatible with the existing structure. Mr. Berg stated that he has questioned Gouncil before on this point amd the only ansner he got fr~m O~uncil was that oolor should be ~patible.
