Meeting Date: 12/13/2016 By: Bruce Westby,Engineering/Public Works Information Title Adopt Resolution 916-12-250 Approving Final Payment to Pearson Brothers, Inc. for Improvement Project 916-00 Division A, 2016 Crackseal and Sealcoat Improvements Purpose/Background: Resolution and Pay Request attached. Notification: N/A Observations/Alternatives: Project costs exceed the contract amount due primarily to the extensive cracksealing needed on streets in this year's Sealcoat program. Cracksealing quantities also overran due to the significant cracks that formed between the pavement and gutter on many of the streets. To prevent similar cost overruns due to higher than anticipated crackseal quantities on future sealcoat projects, staff will increase crackseal quantity estimates for streets with lower PASER ratings(more cracking), and will more closely account for gaps that occur between the pavement and gutter when completing cost estimates. Similarly, Staff will consider reducing estimated crackseal quantities for streets with higher PASER ratings(less cracking)within the program. Funding Source: N/A Recommendation: The Senior Engineering Technician has inspected the completed work and recommends final payment to Pearson Brothers,Inc. for IP 16-00 Division A, 2016 Crackseal and Sealcoat Improvements, in the amount of$22,582.27. Action: Motion to adopt Resolution 416-12-250 authorizing final payment to Pearson Brothers, Inc. for Improvement Project 916-00 Division A,2016 Crackseal and Sealcoat Improvements in the amount of$22,582.27.
