FROM:

TO:

SUBJ:

City Administrator
Mayor & City Council

Staff Report

1, City Budget 1979: The City Council Budget Committee met Tuesday,
September 19, 1978 (6 hours) going over the total core budget and supple-
mental budget with City Staff members. They will be meeting Friday
night, September 22, 1978, to complete their recommendations to the City
Budget. Consequently, I will not be able to send the Council Budget
Committee proposed 1979 City Budget out with the Council Agenda on
Friday.

2. Letter to Ed Fields: This letter has been sent to Mr. Fields under
the Mayor's signature as Council directed at their September 11, 1978
meeting.

3. Park Grant: We will not be eligible for the following grants that
we made application for with State Planning and the Metro Council:

a. Park Improvement Grant: This grant was made to improve
the Titterud Park and we have been denied the grant as this particular
grant is only available to communities that are known as town centers
(Rogers, Bethel, Centerville, etc.)

b. Trail Grant: This application was not considered because
the grant has to be used only where it involves public land.

The Park Board Chairman has been informed of the above action.

4. State Highway 10: I have contacted Mr. Duane Brown, Highway
Planning Department regarding their plans as to development along the
subject highway and a service road. He stated he would have it put
together in two or three weeks.

5. Council petition to amend 170.014B Zoning and Subdivision Code
and Proposed Blight and Nuisance Ordinance: The petition to amend
170.014B of the Zoning and Subdivision Code is still before the Planning.
Commission and they will be rendering their recommendations to Council
for your October 9, 1978, meeting. Further at that time the Blight and
Nuisance Ordinance will be submitted by the City Attorney.

LGS: sb
