FROM: City Administrator <br /> <br />TO: Mayor and City Council <br /> <br />SUBJ: Council Old Business Critique <br /> <br />CASE 1: <br /> <br />CASE 2: <br /> <br />CASE 3: <br /> <br />CASE 4: <br /> <br />OFF-SALE LIQUOR ORDINANCE AMENDMENT: <br /> <br />Due to the Council minutes dated September 5, regarding an <br />amendment be prepared to amend the liquor ordinance paragraph <br />130.0910, the proposed amendment reads as follows: <br /> <br />"an off-sale intoxicating liquor license may be <br />issued for a premises which is located closer <br />than 1200 feet to an existing "on-sale" intoxi- <br />cating liquor establishment." <br /> <br />Due to the amendment change of the liquor ordinance the possi- <br />bility of excluding persons from applying under the old ordi- <br />nance prior to the amendment, a new date had to be set to <br />apply for a liquor off-sale license. The new extension now <br />is September 25. Consequently Council will not be able to act <br />on this matter before their meeting of October 9. This has <br />been published in the official newspaper on September 8 and <br />a copy is enclosed as exhibit ~1 of this agenda. <br /> <br />PERSONNEL RECOMMENDATIONS: <br /> <br />The Personnel Committee has met in regards to the appointment <br />of Sheila Beyer as Council secretary at the salary as indi- <br />cated in Council's agenda dated August 28, D-2 case 10, that <br />she would be paid the same as the previous Council secretary <br />with the same conditions. <br /> <br />Councilman Muller of the Councils Personnel Committee wants <br />a verbal discussion on setting a Council policy for establish- <br />ing salary schedules of City Employees. <br /> <br />REZONING FROM R-1 TO B-1 IN TRANSITIONAL AREA REGARDING PROPOSED <br /> <br />DENTAL CLINIC; CASE OF DR. T. W. ANDERSON: <br /> <br />Please refer to your agenda of August 28, 1978 (B-2) Planning <br />and Zoning Commission report as required by subparagraph 5 of <br />paragraph 170.035A of the City Code. A member of the Planning <br />Commission will be present to review their report with the <br />Council. <br /> <br />PLAYING FIELDS; REGARDING SOFTBALL FIELDS, ETC.: <br /> <br />At the meeting September 7, 1978, regarding softball playing <br />fields to be located at the Ramsey School, Pete Raatikka, City <br />Engineer, stated they could locate two ball fields which would <br />also make possible for a combination soccer field when ball <br />fields were not in use. <br /> <br /> <br />
