PROGRESS OF INVE.STIGATIONS, ETC. ll30hrs 9/8/78 At this time, I was requested to prepare a-reccomendation as to ·whether a. set of stgp signs should· be ·placed on Marble St.. at 163rd Ave. At l~OShrs, I did go to the intersection and did view it. The intersection is that of two straight roads. Marble St.' is nearly level, but may have a slight grade to the south. · 163rd Ave. is on a hill with' the intersection- with Marble St. being at the top' of the hill. Vision for drivers on 163rd Ave. is obstructed by this hill until they are very close-to Marble St. This is t~ue from either directiOn. Vision is ob~cured to a certain degree on southbound I4arble St. north of 163rd Ave. by trees and houses. ' It should also be noted that 163rd 'Ave'. is a through' tYPe street, passing from Jaspar St. to Olivine St. It should also be noted that there has been one accident within the past one mOnth in which there-were injuries. The uncontrolled intersection would seem to .have~ played a role in this accident. The officer handling the accident, Off. Michael Eason, did reccomend,' at the time of the accident, .that-X~ stop signs be placed on both north an~. south bound Marble St. at 163rd Ave: ' ' ; ... In consideration of the Opinions. of other officers 'and my own observations, I do reccomend that stop signs, be placed on northbound and southbound Marble St. at 163rd Ave..
