PUBLIC HEARING/7-25-78 <br />Street Improvement <br />Greenland Hills #2 <br /> <br /> PUBLIC HEARING <br /> .CITY OF RAMSEY <br />COUNTY OF ANOKA <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, the Ramsey City Council held a <br />public hearing on July 25, 1978, at Ramsey Municipal Center, 1 5153 No,then <br />Boulevard N.W. Ramsay, MN 55303 <br /> <br />Present: <br /> <br />Mayor Cox <br />Councilman Gamec <br />Councilman Mickelson <br />Councilman Muller <br />Councilman Reimann <br /> <br />Also Present: <br /> <br />Attorney Goodrich <br />Engineer Sha <br />Administrator Schnelle <br /> <br />Mayor Cox called the public hearing to order at 7:25 p.m. and led the <br />Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag. <br /> <br />~yor Cox announced the purpose of the public hearing is to'consider a <br />street improvement for Greenland Hills #2 and this hearing is for <br />the benefit of persons in Greenland Hills to respond with questions and <br />input regarding the improvement. <br /> <br />Mr. Sha presented the feasibility study. The total cost of the project: <br />$30,000, total unit 26, cost per unit ~153,85, over a ten year period - <br />annual payment of $16~.28 and over a 1 5 year period $126.68. Mr. Sha <br />reviewed the schedule of events that would occur in this project. <br /> <br />Kenneth Strut asked why the cost of the project jumped $2,000 wi~in the <br />time from the last notice. <br /> <br />Mr. Sba explained that the cost is an estimate that had to be published <br />in the newspaper but the final cost will be as bid. The cost estimates <br />are as close as possible. <br /> <br />Mr. Strut asked if there is a years warranty on the road by the contractor. <br />Who is contacted in order to take care of any problems on the road. <br /> <br />Mr. Sha answered that the contractor has to be bonded to guaranty the road <br />and if there are any problems the City should be notified and they will <br />call the contractor. <br /> <br />Mr. Strut asked if the road is limited to five tons, will there be a sign <br />posted on two entrances to Greenland Hills on each end. <br /> <br />Mr Sha said this is something they have debated. TeChnically this is a <br />seven ton road but you could post if you so desire. <br /> <br />K. Strut asked the Council if there is any chance of getting a speed limit <br />sign of 20 mph posted to ellm~nate any speeding. <br /> <br />Mayor Cox replied that this isn't a matter of this public hearing. <br /> <br />Attorney Goodrich said this could be discussed at a later date. <br /> <br /> <br />
