CASE 10:

ACCOUNTING CLERK POSITION: Council action required - I (City
Administrator) did meet with the Council Personnel Committee on
the above position in regards to full/parttime. I explained to
the Personnel Committee that the Accounting Clerk position should
be fulltime and that position not only handle the city Accounting,
but also assist the Assessor in his routine computation work and
assist the Building Inspector in computing cost of building in-
spection fees providing there is time. The City Accounting would
come first in all cases, however, I am sure there would be adequate
time to then assist the Assessor in his routine computations.
The Personnel Committee recommended approval.

Jeanne Moen was hired on a parttime basis for 30 hours per week.
She will assume the position of fulltime Accounting Clerk at
$4.30 per hour and probation period continued until September 5,
1978. She seems to have a very fine grasp of the City of Ramsey's
accounting. Further, the City employees in the City office had
a lot of respect for her in the way she performed her duties. Con-
sequently, I'm recommending that she be employed on a fulltime
basis.

The following is a sample motion as a guide for the City Council:

Motion by seconded by to hire
Jeanne Moen on a fulltime basis as the City's Accounting Clerk
at $4.30 per hour with probationary period expiring September 5,
1978. Upon the expiration of probationary period Council to re-
view her work record and hourly salary. Effective date of com-
mencement of fulltime position . Motion carried.
Voting yes:
Voting no:
Abstaining .
