January 8 ~ 1979
Page 2
Board of 7kdjustment

Mrs. Roger Dickenson asked where he got permission to fill in the
ditches.

Mr. Roger Dickenson asked if it had gone before Planning and Zoning
and asked why they weren't notified of the meeting. They asked to be
notified of all meetings in regard to the area around Tungsten, Rivlyn
and Front Street.

Mr. Roger Dickenson stated the last engineer dian't quite know what he
was talking about in giving an okay to fill in the ditches. He stated
the ditch would take care of it.

Mrs. Dickenson stated if they would make the roads higher than the
houses there would be no problem.

Mr. Merle Anderson asked the Council to consider the variance request
very seriously before any decision is made. Also he is questioning the
size of the building and states it is significantly larger than the lot
will allow. The drainage and traffic problems are very serious and many
times residents cannot get out onto Highway #10 or get off from Highway
#10. He is asking the Council deny the request.

Mrs. Gustafson stated that the traffic is a real problem and that it
seems the street has turned into a service road.

Mrs. Anderson stated the beer trucks are using RivlynAvenue and the
water problem on Rivlyn and Tungsten is real bad.

Mr. Terry O~Rourke stated he feels there would be more traffic with the
proposed building. He also feels the City should have an engineers
report.

Mr. Grosslein stated the fact they had only one exit or entrance to their
property and that was foolish.

Mrs. Anderson asked if where he lived if he had two exits~

Mr. Grosslein stated he lives on a cul de sac and can exit out the back
if he had to.

Mr. Roger Dickenson asked if the City had a requirement of a percentage of
land to be built on.

Councilman Muller stated yes we do.

City Engineer Raatikka stated it was 35% in the residential area and he
wasn't sure what the restrictions on the business area were.

Motion by Councilman Cox and seconded by CouncitmanReimannto move to
continue the Board of Adjustment until we have an engineers report.

Motion carried.
