TO:

FROM:

SUBJ:

DATE:

City Administrator and Council

Tree Inspector

Monthly Report

February 26, 1978

Perhaps we could consider the plausibilitY of developing a tree
disease sanitation plan for the Urban Service Area; and if we only
can support a field identification service for the-Transitional and
Rural Areas, we could look to the replanting in the Transition area
at least.

It seems to me that we could perhaps introduce a different pro-
gram in part that recognizes the different enviromment for trees in
these zones which is trend in common to diminish the numbers, but
perhaps increase the number of species. That is the trend of disease
as well as development is to decrease. The policy we need to clarify
is if we are trying to only.slow the loss from disease or are we to
take into account for development as well.

Sincerely,

Bruce Bacon
