Ken Peterson, Chairman of the Planning <br />and Zoning Commiss5'on felt the biggest problem with the Rural SerVice Area <br />as it presently exists is the subdivision of properties by metes and bounds. <br /> <br />The Council directed the City Attorney to prepare a legislative bill that <br />would require platting of a]l areas for development in cities such as <br />Ramsey and. to contact the appropriate individuals to sponsor such a bill. <br /> <br />A pub]Jc hearing to consider the reduction of the lot sizes for the Rural <br />Service Area was set for Monday, January 22, 1979. <br /> <br />COUNCIL NE3~ BUSINESS <br /> <br />CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT IN UMB ZONING DISTRICT TO MANUFACTURE TRAILERS AND <br /> <br />SALE OPERATION; CASE OF PHILLIP KERSSEN; <br /> <br />A discussion was he]d in regards to Mr. Kerssen's conditional use permit. <br />Mr. Peterson ex]o]ained some of the problems he felt could arise and dis- <br />cussed the auto sa]es and service license. <br /> <br />Councilman Gamec felt more screening should be required. <br /> <br />Atton~ey goodrich noted that zoning took precedent over any license that <br />may have been issued. <br /> <br />City Attorney Schnel]e stated he felt problems could be created with no <br />way to control them. <br /> <br />Councilman Gamec felt this should be tabled until Mr. Kerssenmade another <br />presentation as to what he really wants to do. <br /> <br />City Attorney Goodrich felt he and City Administrator Schnelle should meet <br />with Mr. Kerssen and spell out exactly what he wants to do as well as ex- <br />plain to him what could potentially happen with a conditional use permit. <br /> <br /> <br />
