CITY OF RAMSEY <br /> ANOKA COUNTY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof a continuation of the Board of Adjustment <br />hearing on the variance request of August E. Grosslein was held on February 26, <br />1979, at the Ramsey Municipal Center, 15153 Nowthen Blvd. N.W., Ramsey, Minnesota. <br /> <br />Present: <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec <br />Councilman Reimann <br />Councilman Mickelson <br />Co~mcJlman Cox <br /> <br />Also Present: <br /> <br />City Administrator Schnelle <br />City Attorney Goodrich <br />City Engineer Raatikka <br /> <br /> Mayor Gamec called the continuation of the Board of Adjustment hearing to order <br />at 7:14 and led in the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilman Reimann and seconded by Councilman Cox to appoint Councilman <br />Mickelson as the acting Chairman of the Board of Adjustment. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting yes Mayor Gamec, Councilmen Reimann and Cox. Voting no <br />Councilman Mickelson. <br /> <br />Councilman Mickelson read the letter received from the D.N.R. in regards to the <br />variance reqoest. The D.N.R. stated they were not opposed to the proposed build- <br />ing but did express a concern for the area residents in regards to the increased <br />trmck traffic and the noise and nuisance levels during construction of the new <br />boildJng. <br /> <br />Mayor ~amec read the letter received from the E.Q.B. in regards to the proposed <br />building by August E. Grosslein. They stated they were not opposed to the build- <br />ing but also expressed concern for the area in regards to the potential erosion <br />and pollution generated by a large volume of runoff from the warehouse and parking <br />lot from the proposed building. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec read a letter from the Chief of Police. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec made mention of letters received from citizens in the area affected <br />by the proposal. They were from: Ruth Gustafson, Roger and Marlys Dickenson, <br />Merle Anderson, Pricilla O'Rourke, and Roger and Minnie Dickenson. <br /> <br /> Mayor Gamec mentioned the letter from the City Engineer in regards to the proposal. <br /> <br /> Mr. Bill' DJckenson, Jr. stated he couldn't understand the Council's denial of the <br />,i,~'i/~~ a~ by Bob's Country Super Value and the number of citizens who supported <br /> his request. <br /> <br /> Mayor Gamec stated that Dr. Tom Anderson was asking for rezoning of the area he <br /> proposed to build a dental building. Mr. Grosslein does have the proper zoning <br /> for what he proposes to build and all he is asking here is a variance as to the <br /> setbacks. He can build with no approval from the Council on his variance re- <br /> quests as long as he reduces the size of his building. <br /> <br />Councilman Cox stated the two are totally different items. <br /> <br /> <br />
