TO: City Administrator

FROM: Public Works Superintendent

RE: Monthly Report

DATE: March 22, 1979

In March we spent 54 man hours for the Park Department~ cleaning warming
house, hanging up hoses, take broom off the traetor~ etc. We also started
building soccer goals for the new playground at the school.

There were 228 man hours spent plowing snow and sanding intersections.
It got pretty tough plowing this spring because of all the snow and the
high banks. A lot of mail boxes got pushed off but it couldn't be helped.
We also got a lot of complaints on railroad ties being torn out. A lot
of people are using them to hold their driveway from washing but they
either put them up too high or put them out on the shoulder of the road
and there is no way we can see them when plowing.

There were 124 man hours spent in the shop working on equipment. This
includes oil changes, welding, washing vehicles, etc.

There were 105 man hours on miscellaneous jobs such as meetings~ office
work, sick leave, vacations, etc.

There were 20 man hours spent on road maintenance, grading of roads,

There doesn't seem to be many water problems this year. Because of
the snow cover, there wasn't much frost and the water is soaking in the
ground. In Brook View Estates there is a problem but it is a homeowners
problem and there's not much that can be done about it.

MM: sb
