Council Member introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br /> RESOLUTION # 2017-01-019 <br /> RESOLUTION TO HIRE PAID-ON-CALL FIREFIGHTERS <br /> WHEREAS, over the course of 2016 there have been several Paid-on-call Firefighters that <br /> have separated from the Fire Department due to retirements and other reasons; and <br /> WHEREAS, staffing levels in the Fire Department were less full capacity; and <br /> WHEREAS, a firefighter orientation meeting was held followed by interviews, background <br /> checks, reference checks, physical agility tests, work-style assessments, and pre-employment <br /> physicals and drug screens; and <br /> WHEREAS, seven candidates have successfully passed the requirements to become a city of <br /> Ramsey Paid-on-call Firefighter; and <br /> WHEREAS, eligible candidates will be subject to a 1-year probationary period; and <br /> WHEREAS, the funding to hire the above mentioned firefighters is included in the 2017 <br /> budget and per the Joint Powers Agreement with the City of Nowthen, the City will be reimbursed <br /> for a portion of the salaries if applicable to Station 93. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br /> RAMSEY,ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, <br /> Motion to approve resolution 917-01-019, hiring Levi Dargis, Justin Hovorka, Michael <br /> Jordan, Ramon Murillo-ibarra, Dillon Schmidt, Seth Seymour and Marie Turner as Paid-on- <br /> call Firefighters at$14.50 per hour effective January 11, 2017. <br /> The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Council Member, <br /> , and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: <br /> and the following voted against the same: <br /> and the following abstained: <br /> and the following were absent: <br /> Whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted by the Ramsey City Council this <br /> the 10th day of January 2017 <br />
