Meeting Date: 01/10/2017 By: Jeff Katers,Police Information Title: Adopt Resolution#17-01-017 Authorizing the Joint and Cooperative Agreement for the Formation and Administration of the Anoka-Hennepin Narcotics and Violent Crimes Task Force Purpose/Background: The purpose of this case it to consider adopting Resolution#17-01-010 approving a Joint Powers Agreement between the City of Ramsey and the 8 cities and 1 county which comprise the Anoka Hennepin Narcotics and Violent Crimes Task Force (AHNVCTF)also known as the drug task force The attached JPA defines the agreed upon terms and conditions required for the city of Ramsey to participate in AHNVCTF operations and governance. Background: The assignment of a Ramsey Police Officer to the AHNVCTF is included in the city strategic plan and this position has been budgeted for in 2017. Funding Source: A police officer position and assignment to the AHNVCTF was budgeted for in City of Ramsey's 2017 approved budget. The JPA requires no additional funding. Recommendation: Staff and the city attorney reviewed the JPA and recommends approval.
