City of Ramsey <br /> <br />15153 Nowthen Boulevard N.W., Anoka, Minnesota 55303 · (612) 427-1410 <br /> May 10, 1979 <br /> <br />TO: ANOKA COUNTY CO~ISSIONERS <br /> <br />On Monday, April 30, 1979, the City Council of the City of Ramsey met with <br />the citizens in the surrounding area of the landfill in regards to the <br />problems and the concerns of the citizens and the City of Ramsey. <br /> <br />Nr. Edward Fields, Nr. Don Otter and representatives from other related <br />bodies of regulatory agencies were also in attendance as the minutes of <br />the meeting show. <br /> <br />We are told that Waste Nanagements permit is due for renewal and would like <br /> <br /> the following concerns addressed and answered before the permit is renewed: <br /> <br /> l) Ground cover on the west, south and north side of the hill. <br /> <br /> 2) Amount of cover on refuse both temporary and permanent not meeting the <br /> standards as required by ordinance. <br /> <br /> 3) Requiring 120 feet more of portable .wind screen on top of the hill. <br /> <br /> 4) The main outer fence should have heavier support so that the high wind <br /> will not blow it down. <br /> <br /> 5) Privacy fence along the west border of the landfill by resident's homes. <br /> 6) Lime run-off killing pine trees off west property line. <br /> <br />7) Signs posted on Sunfish Lake Boulevard about fine for littering. <br />8) Road area to be kept watered down to cut down on the dust. <br />9) Review of Methane System (have tests been made)~ <br />lO) Water samples of homes on west side of Landfill. <br />ll) Smell or odor control. <br /> <br />12) Has base and sides of Landfill been lined. <br />13) Liquid waste or chemicals dumped there. <br />14) No tires dumped there. <br /> <br />15) Cut height down from proposed elevation. <br /> <br /> <br />
