a. Present zoning at his place of business is Urban }~ultiple
Business which makes his business a non-conforming use. Enclosure
D-3-g) contains excerpts from City Code which pertain to UMB
Zoning and Non-Conforming Use.
b. Now, only the Board of Adjustment can act on this matter.
However, he wants to discuss the above with you as he thought he
had proper zoning when the new zoning took place.

Secondly, he wants to discuss the selling of a portion of his
land to an individual for a car wash business. I informedhim
this would not fit into the present UMB zoning.

Comments: There is not much you can do for himunless he goes
through the Board of Adjustment, but that would cost him $90 to
get a negative answer. Consequently, he only wants to get your
thoughts on this before going through the Board of Adjustment.

CASE #9 ACCESSORY BUILDING CASE OF STANLEY BROWNING:

He currently has a zoning problem in that he resides in an R-1
area and apparently is in the auto repair or junk business. He
does not have a conditional use permit for this operation in
the R-1 area.

He is requesting a permit for an accessory building. However,
we feel this will only perpetuate the problem to a greater degree.

We have discussed this zoning problem withMr. Browning so he
is well aware of it. We don't feel he should get approval on
au accessory building for the reason stated above until he cleans
up his entire act.

CASE #10 INSTBTLATION OF LIGHT AT ENTRACE TO RAMSEYMUNICIPAL CENTER

DRIVEWAY; REQUEST FOR:

The following is submitted for your review on the above:

a. Street light 175 watt $5.00 per month
Security light 175 watt $4.10 per month
b. Street light 250 watt $6.25 per month
c. Street light 400 watt $8.25 per month

There are no installation costs on any of the above. The light
would be on at dusk and off at dawn.

Recommend the 175 watt light street/security. The street light
would give better area coverage.

CASE #11 ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT COMMITTEE ~EETING ON APRIL 24, 1979 REQUIRE

COUNCIL ACTION:

The following areas have been recommended for Council action or
at least to note:
