Meeting was called to order by Chairman Ken Peterson at 7:30p.m. with the following in attendance: Kenneth Peterson Brad Bodle Also Present: A1 Sorteberg Ron West Dexter Marston Kathy Schneider Art Dunn Peter Raatikka Item.1 Conditional Use Permit - John Kovar Mfg~ Public Hearing. Mr. Mike Kovar waa present :2o request a C.U.P. to allow them t'o-build a 15,500 square foot addition to Kovar Mfg. at 6043 Hwy.#10. There would not be any cars or storage in front and this woul8~ only be a temporary measure and they witif, ev~ntually have. to:'r~tocate. The property has already been purchased from Mrs. Guy and there"is'la~d left behind for a future service road. Art Dunn questioned the lo- cation of the septic system for Guy Trucking, and it will have to be determined if building on the new psrcel will affect it. A~t Dunn explained that there will be a need for two variances; one,variance to Mrs. Guy to sell a parcel by metes and bounds, and a variance to Kovar, ~fg. to allow the 5 foot setback. Public Hearing closed 7:45. Item 2. Urban Develooment Permit' -Rams. eY Dental Clinic- Public Hearing. Dr.'s Anderson and Austin were oresent to request a U.D.P. for their d~ntal clinic to be located on County Road ~,~5 between the Municipal Building and 153rd Ave. Pete R3atJ. kka read the Engineer's Report ahd in response to a question re~.rding the drainage in the future, .replied that it appe~rs adequate unless topography is altered. Dr. Anderson stated his intent to pay w the cost of 152nd Lane at td. me of construction. Public Hearing Closed 8:00 ~.m. Item 3- Vaci.~_n~9_e_R~guest - Virgil Johnson Mr. Johnson ~,:as pre~ent to reouest a varianc~ to allow him to sub- divid8 a lot' by metes and bounds. The lot would be Lot 2, Block 2 Whisperinfl Pines Estate Plat 4. If the variance i~? gr~nted~ Mr. Johnson agrmes to rem6ve an e~<isting pole barn on the property. Motion by Ron ?,'est, seconded by Kathy Schneider to reco~mend to the City Council to grant a variance to Virgil Johnson to allow a sub- d. ivision by metes and bounds of lot 2, block 2, Whispering Pines Estates Plat 4 subject to removal of e×isting pole barn into 2 lots ,.,~ith one lot being an acre in size and one lot of less than one acre. Motion carried 6-0. Motion by Ron West, seconded by Kathy Schneider to Eecommend to the City Council to grant ~ variance to Virgil Johnson to allow a building permit for a lot deficient in size as per ordinance. Motion carried 6-0. Ce~'tificote of Survey was not presented. Commission action on John Kovar Mfg. request. Art Dunn expressed concern over granting the conditional use permit to allow an addition to an existing non ~onforming use when relocation is slrearty bein~ planned for.
