el <br />~ITIONAL USE KENNEL PERMIT <br />John & Gail Taylor <br />P & Z ~h~blic Hearing <br />June 4, '1979 <br /> <br />PLANNING & ZONING 'COMMISSION <br /> CITY OF RAMSMY <br /> ANOKA COUNTY <br /> STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, the Ramsey City Planning & Zoning <br />Conmission held a Public Hearing on June 4, 1979 at the Ramsey Municipal <br />Center, 15153 Nowthen Boulevard N.W., Ramsey, Minnesota 55303 <br /> <br />Chairman Ken Peterson called the public hearing to order at 8:43 P.M. <br />with the following in attendance': <br /> <br />K~n Peterson <br />Art Dunn <br />Kathy Schneider <br />Gerry Zinme~ <br />John Hubbard <br /> <br />Also present: <br /> <br />Lloyd Schnelle, City Administrator <br />Peter Raatikka, City Engineer <br /> <br />Chaiznmn Ken Peterson explm~ned that this is a .public hearing to discuss <br />and receive input regarding a request from Mr. John Taylor for a conditional <br />use permit for a private dog kennel at his residence, 5510 156th Lane N.W., <br />(Woodland Green Addition) Ramsey, MN. Mr. and Mrs. Taylor were present at <br />the nmeting and appeared before the Connzission to state their intentions. <br /> <br />Mr. Taylor reviewed his request with the Conmission stating that they plan <br />to breed Golden Retrievers to be used strictly for show purposes and field <br />trials. He also trains the dogs. He stated that he has talked to his neighbors <br />and three out of six of them didn't even know he had dogs. One neighbor said he <br />likes having the dogs in the area because it warns them when someone is in the <br /> <br />Mr. Jack Menkveld asked Mr. Taylor where this kennel will be located; <br /> <br />Mr. Taylor said that he is the third house in on 156th Lane. He said <br />at present he has a fenced in kennel with a building 20 X 8 feet which they hope <br />to expand to have a better shelter for the dogs from the outside elements. <br /> <br />Mr. Terry Pederson, 17020 Yttrium Street N.W., asked how many dogs he <br />plans to have in the kennel. <br /> <br />Mr. Taylor replied that they had t~o dogs at the present t~me and at the <br />mos~ they would have five dogs at one time. <br /> <br />He said that the kennel will not be used for boarding other dogs. <br /> <br />Mr. Pederson said the reason he is interested in this request is because he has <br />dogs of his own. <br /> <br />Art Dunn asked if the five dogs would include pups~ <br /> <br />Mr. Taylor said he can't guarantee that, but he~feels that hy the time the' <br />pups are six months old, they would all be gone. <br /> <br /> <br />
