TO: Nayor and City Council

FRON: City Administrator

RE: Council Old Business

Enclosure (D2-a) Council minutes_dated January 23, 1979

CASE #1:

CASE #2:

ACCESSORY BUILDING REQUEST FOR; CASE OF STANLEY BROWNING AT

HIS ADDRESS OF 8231 - 158th AVENUE N.W.:

Mm. Browning is requesting a permit for an accessory building
to be located at the above address. He has a one (1) acre lot
which would permit him to build an accessory building up to
624 square feet. In h~s has he has two small out buildings
which totally consist of approximately 150 square feet. So
~r. Browning would be authorized an accessory building of 474
square feet.

Problem: We would normally grant this permit in accordance
with the ordinance without coming to the Council. However, we
have had numerous zoning complaints regarding Mr. Browning. The
complaints have pertained to the storage of vehicles and other
auto debris in his yard. It appears Mr. Browning is in the
auto repair or junk business as a second occupation.

Now, I did a drive by visual inspection of his property on
Wednesday afternoon, June 6, 1979, and there were two trucks,
one pickup, one tractor, and two cars on his premises plus
other material. He has made an improvement over my last visit
which was in the spring with the City Attorney. However, he
still has a problem with zoning and the granting of the accessory
building will further perpetuate this problem.

Comments: We have discussed this zoning problem with Mr. Browning
numerous times so he is well aware of it. We don't feel he
should get approval for an accessory building for the reason
stated above until he cleans up his act.

JOHN L.
