170.0112B <br /> <br />River Corridor Critical Area as set forth and legally des- <br />cribed inMinnesota State Executive Order No. 7919 as re- <br />corded in the State Register, ~onday, Narch 12, 1979. This <br />district hereinafter is called Critical River Area. <br /> <br />b) This district shall be identified on the official zoning <br /> map reference in Section 170.012A of this chapter. <br /> <br />Definitions <br /> <br />For the purposes of this section, the following words and <br />phrases shall have the meanings respectively ascribed to <br />them as follows: <br /> <br />Crown Cover. The ratio between the amount of land shaded by <br />the vertical projection of the branches and foliage area of <br />standing trees to the total area of land, usually expressed <br />as percentage. <br /> <br />Development. The construction, installation or alteration of <br />any structure, the extraction, grading or filling, clearing or <br />other alteration of terrestrial or aquatic vegetation, land or <br />the course current or cross section of any water body or water <br />course or the division of land into two or more parcels. <br /> <br />Dimensional Requirement. llinimum and maximum setbacks, yard <br />requirements and/or structure height or size restrictions <br />established in Chapter 170.01 for the various zoning districts. <br /> <br />Emergency Work. Work that is necessary to save life or property. <br /> <br />Litter. Slightly decomposed organic-material on-the floor of a <br />woodland area. <br /> <br />Normal High Water. Is marked by a line which the water impresses <br />on the soil by covering it for sufficient periods of time to de- <br />prive it of vegetation. In the absence of any statement to the <br />contrary, it must be construed to mean "ordinary" high water <br />mark. <br /> <br />Person. Any individual, firm, corporation, partnership~ associ- <br />ation or other private or governmental entity. <br /> <br />Sign, Advertising. A sign which directs attention tO a business, <br />commodity, service, activity or entertainment not necessarily con- <br />ducted, sold or offered upon the premises where such sign is lo- <br />cated. <br /> <br />Slope. The inclination of the natural surface of the land from <br />the horizontal, usually measured in one of three ways: 1) As <br />a ratio, the horizontal distance to the vertical distance; 2) <br />As a percentage, the vertical distance over'the horizontal dis- <br />tance; 3) By degrees, measured fr°m the horizontal to the ver- <br />tical. <br /> <br /> <br />
