Page 1 <br />9/4/?9 <br /> <br />PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION <br /> CITY OF RAMSEY <br /> ANOKA COUNTY <br /> STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, the Ramsey City Planning'and <br />Zoning Commission held a public hearing on September 4, 1979, at the <br />Ramsey Municipal Center, 15153 Nowthen Blvd. N.W., Ramsey, Minnesota <br /> <br />Chairman Ken Peterson called the Public hearing to order at 7:59 P.M. <br />with the following in attendance: <br /> <br />Members Present: <br /> <br />Chairman Ken Peterson Also Present: <br />Art Dunn <br />Benjamin Deemer <br />Gerald Z~ mmerman <br />Kathy Schneider <br />John Hubbard <br />Ron West <br /> <br />Lloyd Schnelle, <br />City Administrator <br /> <br />Peter Raatikka <br />City Engineer <br /> <br />Chairman Peterson announced that the purpose of this public hearing <br />is to consider a request for Mr. and~rs. Jack McCarthy to operate a pri- <br />vate kennel on their property at 8615 - 168th Avenue N.W., Ramsey, <br />Minnesota. <br /> <br />Mr. McCarthy explained his request to the Commissioners. He has a 10' x <br />18' kennel run, a dog house and that they will be keeping three dogs. <br /> <br />1) spayed female German Wirehair <br />2) male and a female Highland White Terrier. <br /> <br />The fencing around the kennsl is 8' x 20' x 6' high chain link fence. <br />The dogs will be kept inside at night in crates. <br /> <br />Ron West questioned if the McCarthy intended to own more dogs in the <br />future, since he owns land in the area this is one of his concerns. <br /> <br />Mr. McCarthy said they have sold down to these three adult dogs and will <br />be keeping only the three. He stated he would like to get out of the <br />dog business completely but adult dogs are hard to sell. <br /> <br />Kathleen Schneider said that part of the conditions Of this permit should <br /> h ~ ' ' <br />be that the dogs are not loose at nig t and tha~ they w~ll not be raising <br />dogs for profit. <br /> <br />There was no citizen input regarding the kennel.l~mit request. <br />The hearing was closed at 8:05 P.M. <br /> <br />Respectfully submitted, <br /> <br />Arlene Peddycoart <br />Planning Secretary <br /> <br /> <br />
