TO: City Administrator

FROM: Building Official

RE: Moved in House

DATE: October 2, 1979

After payment of proper fees, I have inspected a manufactured house for
Carson Homes. The structure is located to the rear of their office build-
ing.

The structure appears to be a mobile home but is not as there is no metal
frame that is an integrel part of the structure. The structural con-
struction is the same as a stick built house and it does have a seal of
approval from the Building Inspectors Office.

It was built in 1973 and was previously used as an office building in the
City of Crystal.

The only revisions necessary to attain code compliance would be the in-
stallation of a bath tub in place of the existing urinal, and the in-
stallation of a heating system. The exterior wall requires repairs to
the siding.

It would be Mr. Carsons intent to locate this structure on Lot 8 Block 9
Country Side Estates with a detached garage.

City ordinance would prohibit the moving in of this structure as it can
be transported on a flat bed truck. However} in view of the fact that it
has been approved by the State I would question the validity of our ordi-
nance. I think this issue should be addressed as I'm sure with the cost
of housing inflating the way it is we will be faced with other requests
of this nature.

I will be available for comment on this matter at the meeting.
