PUBLIC HEARING <br /> CITY OF RA~EY <br />ANOKA COUNTY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof the Ramsey City Council held <br />a public hearing at the Ramsey Municipal Center, 15153 Nowthen Boulevard <br />N.W., Ramsey, Minnesota 55303 on October 9, 1979. <br /> <br />Members Present: Mayor Gamec Also Present: Adm. Schnelle <br /> Councilman Cox Engr. Raatikka <br /> Councilman Mickelson Atty. Goodrich <br /> Councilman Re imann <br /> Councilman Sorteberg <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec called the hearing to order at 8:26 P.M.and explained <br />the purpose of this hearing is to review the Assessment for a street <br />improvement proj.ect for QUARTZ, OLIVINE, MJkRBLE, KAM_ACITE, JASPAR, <br />161ST LANE, 162ND LANE, 163RD AVENUE,~ 164TH AVENUE, 166TH AVENUE. <br />He explained that the project is complete except for some restoration <br />of ditches, matching of driveways, repair of corners, etc. he explained <br />the City's driveway policy. <br /> <br />Engineer Raatikka reviewed the project and cost sunmary. <br /> <br />Les Martin~ 164th and Quartz asked if 167th Avenue is ever going to be <br />done. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec stated that this is an MSA street and that the 1/4 of mile <br />should have been done at. this same time but it was overlooked. <br /> <br />Mr. Martin reported on the extremely poor condition of 167th Avenue <br />in this area and that they are sometimes forced to drive in the ditches. <br /> <br />Street Superintendent Mevissen will be contacted in this regard. <br /> <br />Rog Anderson, 7033 163rd Avenue, asked that a slow sign be installed and <br />also that the contractor left a small poplar tree in the ditch and he <br />would like it removed. <br /> <br />Russell Johnson, 166th Avenue asked if one piece of land is buildable or not. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec said it was checked and found that it is not buildable and it <br />will be discussed during the regular Council meeting. <br /> <br />Ann Madison, 163rd Lane, said 161st Lane has a curb and asked if this <br />is going'to be done throughout the entire project. <br /> <br />Engineer Raatikka reported that she is referring to a suburban type street <br />section which is installed with a curb to direct water flow along the <br />street for drainage purposes.
