METROPOLITAN COUNCIL <br />Suite 300 Metro Square Building, St. Paul, Minnesota 55101 <br /> <br />MEMORANDUM <br /> <br />August 30, 1979 <br /> <br />TO: Physical Development Committee <br />FROM: Environmental Planning Division (Jack Frost) <br /> <br />SUBJECT: Anoka Interceptor Plans and Specifications, <br /> Metropolitan Council Referral File No. 6986-1, District No. <br /> 12 <br /> <br />introduction <br /> <br />The Metropolitan Waste Control Commission has submitted plans and <br />specifications for the Anoka Interceptor for our review and comment. <br /> <br />Authority to Review- <br /> <br />The Metropolitan Reorganization Act (Minnesota Statutes 473.161) and <br />the Council's Water Quality Management Plan Procedure 5 allow the <br />Council to review and comment on-the plans and specifications before <br />or at the time the Capital Improvement Budget is submitted for <br />approval. <br /> <br />Description of the Project <br /> <br />The project consists of approximately 2.8 miles of intercepting <br />sewers generally ranging in size from 30 inches~ to 48 ~inches. Also- <br />included is a lift station and approximately 1.1 miles of 10 inch <br />force main. This is all shown on the following figure and as <br />detailed in the plans and specifications entitled, "Intercepting <br />Sanitary Sewer Anoka, Minnesota, Project No. 77-07." <br /> <br />When placed in operation the interceptor will only serve the City of <br />Anoka. Provisions are made for connection to Ramsey at Anoka's <br />western border, future connection to Ramsey west of Hwy. 47, and <br />future extension of the facility across the Rum River to the existing <br />Anoka northeast interceptor for future service to western Andover. <br />As presently proposed flow will be conveyed from the main interceptor <br />via the interim lift station and force main ~o the Anoka treatment <br />plant. <br /> <br /> <br />
