Council Update

Recreation Programming Continued
… Staff is building connections with local organizations to
provide a variety of program offers for residents. Examples include Anoka County Libraries,
Minnesota DNR MinnAqua Program (learn to fish), Anoka County Parks, Northern Starz
Children’s Theater, and the Master Naturalist Program (U of M). Two “movie in the park” dates
were selected, Friday 5/5 and 9/8, and will be held at Elmcrest Park. Staff is also exploring a
summer “rec on the go” program to host at centrally located parks throughout the city, which
would consist of semi-structured activities on a drop-in basis.

Eventbrite is being used for online registration and is showing success so far, allowing community
members to easily register for events. A post-program evaluation for the January Art in the Park
was conducted, and although the response rate was somewhat low, participants were overall
satisfied with program content and are very likely to recommend the program to a friend. The
instructor from RRAC received excellent ratings. Evaluations will continue to occur. Ideas for
programs?
