Case #2: Charter Commission reqarding the Financing of Public Improvements: <br /> <br />Enclosure (1) contains an article that appeared in the Community <br />Section of the Minneapolis Star and Tribune on Thursday, October 6, <br />1983 regarding the proposed Ramsey City Charter. The EDC Chairman <br />has requested that this be placed on the agenda for discussion in re- <br />gards to the Charter Commission's approach to public improvements as <br />stated in the above enclosure. <br /> <br />Commission Action: Your action will be only to note that you have <br />reviewed the contents of this enclosure or direct other action. <br /> <br />Case %3: Extension of Hennepin County Highway %18 to Link Up With Highway ~10 <br /> Via Bridqe Over the Mississippi River: <br /> <br />The EDC Chairman has requested that this issue be placed on the agenda <br />for discussion by the Commission. <br /> <br />Commission Action: If action is directed, this would be the responsi- <br />bility of the Economic Subcommittee. <br /> <br />Case %4: Leqislation: <br /> <br />The following is submitted on this issue: <br /> <br /> a) Article on Past (1983) Legislation - Enclosure (2) is~enclosed <br />for discussion purposes. <br /> <br /> b) Minnesota Tax Committee - This is the Blue Ribbon Commission <br />that the Governor created after or during the past (1983) legislative <br />session to study the tax situation in Minnesota. Mayor Latimer of St. <br />Paul chairs that Commission and they are meeting regularly. Their <br />next meeting will be in Room ~112, State Capitol Building, St. Paul, <br />MN from 1:30 p.m. through 4:30 p.m. on October 18, 1983. <br /> <br />I would assume that if recommendations are going to be made to this <br />Commission, you would have to request to be placed on their agenda and <br />you should have your subject matter prepared in text form so that they <br />have a copy of it. <br /> <br />Commission Action: No action is required other than to have it noted <br />that you are aware of the above.
