c) Economic Subcommittee - Commissioner Schneider stated that his committee has
met regarding the brochure the City plans on putting out. He said that the con-
tent and appearance are very important factors in the success of this brochure.
We want a professional looking piece. He introduced Mr. Gary Schneider of Sailor
Promotions who is a professional ad man. Commissioner Schneider feels that an
outside party would provide a better perspective to this project. Mr. Gary
Schneider handed out some advertising materials he has done in the past. He
estimates this being 16 pages of typed copy with two illustrations per page,
costing the City approximately $3,500 for 1,000 copies and approximately another
$1,000 for an additional 1,000 copies.

Commissioner Cox feels that the State EDC should receive copies of this brochure
as they have an interest in what we're doing here. He stated that in addition
to appealing to the business commmaity, the brochure should stimulate the resi-
dential sector of the community.

Chairman Greenberg stated that the Economic Subcommittee should meet again this
month and have a recommendation ready for the next meeting.

Cormmissioner Schneider gave the secretary a copy of the preliminary profile he
has put together. He would like this mailed out to all the EDC members for them
to review before the next meeting and at that time give him any suggestions they
may have.

It was brought to the Commission's attention that Mr. Darrell Jensen, former
President of the Anoka Chamber of Commerce and his successor, Mr. Mike ~arsh were
present at this meeting at the request of Commissioner Schmidt and the EDC. Mr.
Marsh explained that he was informed of Ramsey's interest in joining Anoka :in their
Chamber of Commerce. Mr. Marsh further stated that the Anoka Chamber would be
very happy to work with Ramsey in making this a reality.

Chairman Greenberg stated that we have discussed this proposal at previous meetings
and very much appreciate ~Ar. Jensen and Mr. Marsh taking the time to come to the
EDC meeting but he explained that we will have to discuss this issue at the next
meeting because of a lack of time.

Mayor Gamec informed the Commission that at the January llth meeting of the City
Council, the Ramsey Second Connection was approved and moved up a year to 1983.
The City received a petition from various businesses in the area requesting the
City Council commence preparing plans and specifications for making public utilities
available to their properties.

Con~nissioner Menkveld questioned if stocks were to be sold atthis meeting for the
Local Development Company.

Mayor Gamec informed him that Attorney Goodrich held it off this month because of
the long agenda but he does have everything ready to go.

Chairman Greenberg stated that it may be necessary to hold a special meeting within
the next month as we have so many things happening we'll need more time.

EDC/January 12, 1983
