because they really have not been addressed prior to this
meeting. Further, the Council adopted a resolution request-
ing that the Metro Council have an outside consultant do a
study in regards to what type of economic losses the City
would suffer if Site P (landfill) was to become a reality
here in Ramsey.

Further, the Council wants the present landfill site to be
included in Site P. That was also being included in this
resolution. When copies are available of this resolution,
you will be furnished one.

b)

Finance - As you have probably noted in the Anoka Union,
State Auditor Arne Carlson, in his financial health profile
report, stated that the City of Ramsey was doing a very good
job in fiscal management and this was further brought home
by the City's auditor, Deloitte, Haskins & Sells in their
annual audit conducted this year for 1981. This is really
very good news for ~amsey when we go into the bond market
which means we should be holding our own or better. One
thing Mr. Carlson's report pointed out was that Ramsey is
doing very poor in State local aids and as you know, Ramsey
is working very hard in getting this changed where it is
equitable to all communities in the State of Minnesota.

c)

State Aid Lawsuit - The City of Ramsey is proceeding along
with its State aid lawsuit. Our attorney is interviewing
persons to serve as expert witnesses and we feel we have a
very good case.

d)

Ad Hoc Committee for Public Improvements - This Committee
had their first meeting on August 10, 1982 at the R~msey
Municipal Center. Their first meeting is an organizational
meeting and you will be furnished copies of those minutes.

e)

Elections - Mayor Gamec is trying to get the "Meet Your
Candidate" meeting set for September 7 here at the Ramsey
Municipal Center and this would give the citizens an oppor-
tunity to address questions to those persons who are seeking
the offices of 1st District County Commissioner, and the
Senate and House seats prior to the primary election.
