He stated that one question to the
panel will be to what degree is park development a catalyst for development, both residential and
commercial.
Councilmember Riley asked if this design work has ever been completed.
Parks and Assistant Public Works Superintendent Riverblood replied that this level of planning
has never occurred.
Councilmember LeTourneau stated that this is hard programming that has been part of the plan
for some time and therefore he could support the idea in concept that this is the direction the
group should move in. He was unsure that waiting until Friday would be necessary.
Councilmember Shryock stated that the partnership with commercial may help mold the
development of the park, noting that the panelists Thursday will provide additional input that
could shape the plan a bit differently. She asked the timeframe if the Council delays action.
Parks and Assistant Public Works Superintendent Riverblood stated that he was looking forward
to working on this during the fall and winter in order to balance daily staffing duties. He stated
that this plan is already budgeted to occur in 2016. He stated that it would be great to work on
this in concept with the revisioning.
The consensus of the Council was to direct staff to continue to work on this through the meeting
on November 7tn
3.
