TITLE
ESCROW #
DEPARTMENT:
TECHNICAL REVIEWER:
CITY OF RAMSEY LAND USE APPLICATION
TECHNICAL REVIEW FILE
SEI'IEVIBER 14, 2016 PROJECT ADDRESS
REVISED SEI'IEMBER
30, 2016
BROOKFIELD 8TH ADDITION
115267
TBD
Community Development: Planning Division (Landscape Plan & Environmental
Resources)
Name: Chris Anderson, City Planner
Phone: 763-433-9817
Email: canderson@,citvoframsev.com
We offer the following comments regarding the Tree Inventory and Protection Plan and the
Landscape Plan, both prepared by E. G. Rud & Sons, Inc. and dated September 1, 2016:
Per the Tree Inventory and Protection Plan, there are 7,726 inches of significant tree DBH on the
property and there will be 3,544 inches of significant tree DBH remaining after grading, utilities,
sidewalks and street are completed. This is the equivalent of forty-six percent (46%) of the
significant tree DBH and meets the standards of the Tree Preservation Ordinance.
The City's Natural Resources
Inventory (NRI) identifies some
moderate quality woodlands
and wetlands on the site (site
is approximated by the red
boxes). This is primarily along
the Trott Brook corridor.
While there will be some
impacts to the woodlands,
there is a recorded
Conservation and Trail
Easement, in favor of the City,
which protects the brook,
associated wetlands, and a
portion of the upland woods
adjacent to it and helps
maintain a valuable wildlife
corridor along the brook as
well. There is also a trail that already exists within this corridor for the benefit of the public. The
Master Trail Plan indicates that eventually this trail will be extended (via a boardwalk) west to
connect with Variolite St.
