Recommend Landscape Improvements for Center Median in the Sweet Bay Ridge Development: Ratify the <br />recommendation of the Public Works Committee to recommend City Council approve the proposed plan provided <br />by Great Northern Landscapes, Inc., further investigate funding sources for this plan, and return it to the Public <br />Works Committee upon conclusion at the November meeting. <br />2. Consider Work Order for Sunwood Drive Roundabout Streetscape Design: Motion to ratify the recommendation <br />of the Public Works Committee to recommend City Council cap funding from the Parks and Recreation <br />Department at $11,989 and to accept the proposal from WSB and Associates, Inc. <br />3. Develop Policy for Installation of Non -Priority Street Lights: Ratify the recommendation of the Public Works <br />Committee to recommend City Council leave the policy as it current reads. <br />4. Receive Neighborhood Petition Requesting Change to Current Traffic Control: Motion for City Council to ratify <br />the consensus of the Public Works Committee that this is a problem that needs to be corrected for safety reasons. <br />Purpose/Background: <br />The Public Works Committee held its regular meeting on October 18, 2016 and discussed the following cases: <br />1. Recommend Landscape Improvements for Center Median in the Sweet Bay Ridge Development: Parks & <br />Assistant Public Works Superintendent Riverblood reviewed the proposed project and plan and recommendation by <br />the City Council to proceed with the landscape renovation plan by Great Northern Landscapes, Inc. He stated it will <br />include honeysuckle bushes, mulching, planting soil, irrigation, and yearly maintenance. Motion to ratify the <br />recommendation of the Public Works Committee to recommend City Council approve the proposed plan provided <br />by Great Northern Landscapes, Inc., further investigate funding sources for this plan, and return it to the Public <br />Works Committee upon conclusion at the November meeting. <br />2. Consider Work Order for Sunwood Drive Roundabout Streetscape Design: City Engineer Westby provided the <br />proposed work order from WSB & Associates, Inc. He stated it is recommended to engage the work order with <br />WSB & Associates, Inc. Motion to ratify the recommendation of the Public Works Committee to recommend City <br />Council cap funding from the Parks and Recreation Department at $11,989 and to accept the proposal from WSB <br />and Associates, Inc. <br />Note: The City Council reviewed this item at their regular meeting on October 25 and decided not to take action at <br />this time. <br />3. Develop Policy for Installation of Non -Priority Street Lights: Public Works Superintendent Riemer stated he <br />often gets inquiries and complaints about street lighting. He thought being proactive about this issue and setting a <br />policy for this would be helpful. Ratify the recommendation of the Public Works Committee to recommend City <br />Council leave the policy as it current reads. <br />4. Receive Neighborhood Petition Requesting Change to Current Traffic Control: Public Works Superintendent <br />
