Commissioner Menkveld said he was sure there should be some way to do this.

Councilman Cox said the Metro Council is holding ushostage regarding the second
sewer connection. We should have Charlie Weaver out here to discuss this with
him.

City Administrator Schnelle stated that they are reluctant to give us a date re-
garding certain areas for water and sewer. This really puts the City in a spot.
The Metro Council is not anxious to see our area develop.

Commissioner Fults said that we do need help to get this through the Metro Council.

Commissioner Schmidt left at 8:47 a.m.

Councilman Cox stated that in regards to the Rum River Bridge Crossing, any objec-
tions or input to the City are needed by April 9, 1982. We must indicate our
support for the bridge.

Commissioner Guy asked for the location of the bridge.

Commissioner Fults wondered if it would be best to send a letter from the Economic
Development Commissioner regardfng our support and sign it as a private citizen.

Chairman Greenberg asked about action on the Local Development Corporation. He
feels that we are not ready to take any action on this at this time.

Motion by Commissioner Miller and seconded by Commissioner Menkveld to postpone
any action on the Local Development Corporation.

Motion carried. Voting yes: Commissioners Greenberg,Miller, Menkveld, Guy and
Fults. Voting no: None.

The petition regarding the Rum River Bridge Crossing was read and it was felt that
action should be taken by the Economic Development Commission.

Motion by Commissioner Menkveld and seconded by Commissioner Fults to draft a letter
from the Economic Development Commission to ~the County Board recommending Alternate
#3 for the Rum River Bridge Crossing.

Motion carried. Voting yes: Commissioners Greenberg, Menkveld, Fults, Guy and
Miller. Voting no: None.

Chairman Greenberg stated that he would prefer to wait with any action on the LDC
until Commissioners Schmidt and Jensen get together.

Councilman Cox said that it is critical to have a meeting with Mr. Weaver and the
Economic Development Commission.

City Administrator Schnelle said that he would try to have him here for the next
regular meeting. They're not too happy to serve business community jobs for every-
body but people have to know what the future of water and sewer is.

Commissioner Fults asked if he should make contact with Norm Holm and Art Raudio.

Sp EDC/March 31, 1982
Page 4
