PC CASE <br /> <br />CONSIDER AUTHORIZATION TO HIRE <br /> AN ACCOUNTING CLERK <br /> <br />By: Givonna Reed, Human Resources Manager <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br />In July 2004 the Accounting Clerk position was advertised internally. The City did not <br />reccivc any applications; therefore, the position was advertised in the newspaper. The <br />City received approximately 200 applications and interviewed nine applicants. Based on <br />the interview panel's review, staff is recommending that Jackie Lipski be hired for the <br />Accounting Clerk position. <br /> <br />Stall Recommendation: <br /> <br />Staff is recommending Jackie Lipski for the Accounting Clerk position at an hourly wage <br />of $15.44/hr, plus benefits. Ms. Lipski's appointment is contingent upon successful <br />completion of criminal and driver's license background checks, reference checks, and <br />passing a pre-employment physical and drug screen. With Council approval, <br />Ms. Lipski's start date will be on or near Monday, August 30, 2004. <br /> <br />Committee Action: <br /> <br />Motion to recommend Jackie Lipski for the position of full-time Accounting Clerk at a <br />starting wage of $15.44/hr, plus benefits contingent upon successful completion of <br />criminal and driver's license background checks, reference checks, and passing a pre- <br />cmployment physical and drug screen. <br /> <br />Reviewed by: <br />Finance Director <br />Accountant <br /> <br />PC: 08-24-04 <br /> <br /> <br />
