with the School Board have discussed the possibility of a joint cooperative venture
in developing a new civic center in Ramsey at th? first, elementary school site.
Under consideration is the potential purchase byfthe Township of land adjacent to
the school site for police and fire protection facilities plus park and related services.
The school board would in turn provide space Within the school for township offices
and meeting space. Site,s considered for such a combined facility are situated close
to the center of subdivision development within the Township.

PUBLIC UTILITIES

,Water

All development within Ramsey Township is served by on-site wells. There are no
plans for an m-ground water distribution] system in the foreseeable future.

Storm Sewers ~

The Metropolitan Sewer Board boundary runs from the southwestern corner to the
northeastern corner of the township; the area to the south and east of-this boundary,
Service Area No.. 3, is more heavily developed and will likely require sewage
facilities at some future time.

Midland Consultants, Inc. completed a study in August of 1971 Which-noted that all
existing development within the township is served tJY on-site septic tank-soil
absorption systems of sewage disposal. Their conclusion is that the concentration
of commercial establishments along Highways 10 and 52 is the area that should
receive highest priority for sewage works planning; It is-their opinion that "the
density of residential development is sufficiently low in the presently developed'
areas to discourage public sanitary sewage collection service. This is because of
the opportunities on the large lots to replace malfunctioning private systems and
because of the high cost per residential unit of public sanitary sewage collection
service that would result from the present spacing of residences." One 'exception
might be the more densely developed residential area.in the southeastern corner of
the township.
