blEBTING OF RA'4SEY CITY COUNCIL <br /> June 23, 1975 <br /> <br />Those present were Mrs. Oliphant, Mr. Reimann, Mayor Cox, <br />Mr. Mickelson, Mr. Gotham, Mr. Steffen and Mr. Goodrich. <br /> <br />Public Participation: BIr. Cox asked the members of the audi. enCe. <br />~ anyone had anything to state. There were no comments from anyone <br />in the audience. <br /> <br />Agenda Approval' The Council made miscellaneous agenda changes. <br />Mr. Gorham moved to accept the agenda with the amendments as <br />discussed. Seconded by Mr. Mickelson. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Approval of Minutes: June 9 Minutes. Mr. Cox noted that Mr. Oliphant's <br />statement t~at proposed staffing was not favored by him due to <br />inappropriate state of economy because gas costs are slowing growth <br />was not included in the Minutes. Mrs. Oliphant stated that if any <br />statements from Mr. Oliphant were to be included they should be put in <br />verbatim from the tapes. Mr. Cox moved to include the statements as <br />indicated above from the tapes of that meeting and also to include the <br />conversation and statements from the tapes in which Mr. Cox asked <br />Mr. Oliphant whether he accepted majority action of the City Council as <br />the "law" of the community and Mr. Oliphant's response to that question; <br />further, to direct the Clerk to insert the appropriate verbatim <br />language. Seconded by Mr. Gotham. Mr. Reimann, Mr. Cox, Mr. Mickelson <br />voted'yes. Mrs. Oliphant voted no. Motion carried. <br /> <br />Park Report: b.ir. Reimann read the park report from the park <br />COmmittee's meeting of May 13, 197S. <br /> <br /> Church Use of Residence' on Hematite Street: Mr. Thurston, the <br /> gUil8ing"Inspector, read''a' letter fro~ the State of Minnesota, Building <br /> Code Division, and written by Sivert Hendrickson of that Department, <br /> dated June 16, 1975. That report is attached to these Minutes. <br /> ~rs. Worm, a neighbor of the church area, reported that occupants of <br />~the church property are depositing refuse in low area and a swampy <br /> area. She also stated she would like Lynn Clark of the Spring Co., and <br /> the Spring Co., to be barred from selling real estate within the City. <br /> She would also like an ordinance preventing use of residences for <br /> church purposes. She also stated that signs were being put up designatinl <br /> the church as such. She further stated that the lawn had not been <br /> properly maintained, specifically it had not been fertilized. <br /> ~fr. Mickelson moved to refer the matter to the City Attorne7 and <br /> Building Inspector for appropriate action. Seconded by Mr. Reimann. <br /> Five ayes, no nays. <br /> -~. <br /> Weed'and Tree Report' Mr. Bacon was not present and no report was <br /> given. .~ .. <br /> <br /> A1 Buliick Variance: Mr. Cox noted that the variance fee had been <br /> p~id. The matter was temporarily tabled to allow legal counsel to <br /> review. <br /> <br /> <br />
