Regular Coumcil <br /> Page S <br /> October 10, 1978 <br /> <br />Mr. Bill Dom said didn't ask support on just any clinic it was a par- <br />ticular clinic. He opposes the medical clinic and feels people a~e <br />generally in favor of the dental clinic, <br /> <br />Mr. Ron Jankowski stated they had origioally wm~ted to build there but <br />was discouraged by the mayor and Councilman Muller. <br /> <br />Councilman Muller stated then he was not turned down at all by him~ but <br />was told it would be awfully difficult and he could try, <br /> <br />Mr. Ed Klemish stated he felt there was no sense in having it ~too close to <br />Anoka that we need the business in our City.' <br /> <br />Ms. Loretta Ferrett felt it would be a terrific asset as far as looks go <br />a bank and store on one side and a clinic across the street, <br /> <br />Mr. Rick Soule stated we shouldn't have business too close to Anoka. He <br />lives close to Elk River and shops in Elk River. and feels if buSiness is <br />placed too far away to make it worthwhile to shop in Ramsey then he will <br />continue to shop in Elk River. <br /> <br />Mr. Ed Klemish stated he:has always heard so much talk about the City of': <br />Ramseyandhe wants to see the City of Ramsey~ <br /> <br />Mr. Jim Edwards, Jr. statedthe location of a busineSs 'is notimportant <br />as is the way business is run; If you are-treated well you will continue <br />to go there. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilman Mickelson.and seconded by Councilman Muller to approve <br />the rezoning request of Dr. T. W, Anderson_for the placement ora dental <br />clinic.on the Planning and Zoning recommendation and upon adopting finding <br />of fact.· <br /> <br />Mayor Cox stated'at this time.he doesn't feel the questions~have been an-~ <br />swered well enough. <br /> <br />Mr. Steve Sc]~nitt said that the comPrehensive Plan not addressed at-the <br />public hearing everything must be taken into consideration. Peoples needs <br />are always chafiging and flhe peoples needs should be considered over the <br />Met council. <br /> <br />Councilman Mickelson stated the Met Council required our development plan <br />and an okay from them was to be within three months, He feels they don't <br />even know where our comprehensive Plan is as it is probably in someone's <br />wastebasket. <br /> <br />Councilman Reimann stated the area south of 153rd would be serviced by <br />sewer first and the Met Council would help in servicing that area. <br /> <br />Councilman Mickelson feels the Met Council doesn't know where Ramsey is, <br /> <br />Mayor Cox stated he feels if we allow this we are opening the door for <br />others to do same. <br /> <br /> <br />
