Page 3 <br />Regular Council Meeting <br /> May 14, 19 79 <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting yes: Mayor Gamec, Coucilmen Cox, Mickelson, <br />Reimann and Sorteberg. Voting no: None. <br /> <br />NOTE BOARDS AND 'GOMMISSIONS <br /> <br />Ail Commission minfites received and acknowledged. <br /> <br />Councilman Cox noted for clarification that regarding the Economic Develop- <br />ment Co~nittee minutes that they are recommending Council action and are <br />not intending a decision. <br /> <br />LETI~ERS AND C(B~NICATIONS <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec presented a letter from Mortgage Assoc., regarding Vera McGregor. <br />Vera McGregor regarding Industrial Revenue Bonds for Off-Sale was deleted <br />from the Agenda. <br /> <br />A letter from Sue VanWagner thanking Council for their help in regard to <br />the Landfill situation. <br /> <br />A letter from Dr. Jankowski, Coon Rapids Clinic, Commending Officer Thomas <br />Anderson for the fine job he did in apprehending burglars t.~at burglarized <br />his home also officers Kuhn and Gustafson for their follow up in the matter. <br />He commended the City on the fine Police Department they now have. <br /> <br />Councilman Cox said he appreciates these kind of letters and that a letter <br />of appreciation should be sent to Mr. Jankowski for his comments. <br />Council consensus is to send the letter in this regard. <br /> <br />Michael Waterman, Marmoset and 153rd Ave. had requested a special <br />watch regarding speeding at this-intersection. The results of the study <br />were that the offenders were residents who lived in the area themselves. <br /> <br />A letter Mayor Gamec put together to be sent to Anoka County Commissioners <br />regarding changing the height of the Landfill hill. <br /> <br />Councilman Cox questioned if it would be appropriate to request that it be <br />minimized in height. <br /> <br />Councilman Reimann related that Mr. Otter had said if it is changed at this <br />point he would not get the money he has planned to get out o~ the development. <br /> <br />Councilman Cox said there is so much up front cost , projected cost etc., <br />for the development of it. With the problems that are there would it be a <br />good idea..'to have less of a hill. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec said he will look into it further with the residents and come <br />back with information. <br /> <br />Councilman Reimann felt if the police were to go out on Sunfish Lake Boulevard <br />on Saturdays and tag the Saturday do it yourselfers who are the litter bugs and <br />not the regular landfill accounts. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec announced that the Landfill is now putting up signs warning against <br />littering until the County gets their signs 'up. <br /> <br /> <br />
