1979

IE1TERS & OD~CATIONS

Letter from Mr. Ben Deemer listing his comnents on the issues for tonighCs
meeting as he is away on vacation and unable to attend.

PLANNING ODMMISSION BUSINESS

Item No. 1 LIRBAN DEVELOPMEMr PERMIT FOR NURSERY; REQUEST FOR APPROVAL; CASE

OF L_k-'~E

Chairman Ken Peterson stated that the Conmission has held a public hearing
regarding this request earlier this evening. He asked Mr. Crawley if
he is familiar with the Urban Development Permit.

Mr. Crawley stated that he did' not know about it when he first started his
venture, but he is aware if it now.

Engineer Peter Raatikka reviewed his letter regarding the Urban Development
Permit for Lee's Nursery with the Conmission.

Mr. Crawley indicated that the area to the south on his plan, where there is
nothing indicated, he could use for an overflow parking area.

Art Dunn asked if the 33 foot roadway easement is gxisting.

Engineer Raatikka said no, that it would have to be d&dicated.

Engineer Raatikka said that the parcel behind the nursery would be landlocked.

Ch~iznmn Peterson asked how far off the proposed building is from meeting the
req;~red minin~n floor space.

Engineer Raatikka replied-500 feet.

Mr. Crawley said he plans to add a greenhouse to the office building and this would
bring his floor space up to requir~nts..

Chairman Peterson said the greenhouse should be shown on his plan as part of the
space req~d~rement. An~ he should landscape along County Road 5.

Mr. Crawley said it would be in keeping with the natural setting of the site to
put in grass and a landscaped area.

Art I~m expressed concern that the existing trees would be blocking the line
of vision coming out onto County Road 5.

Mr. Crm~ley said he has already .planned to trim back the trees on the north
and south for his benefit as well for advartising etc., and will accomplish it
as soon as possible.

It was bought to Mr. Crawley's attention that for future service road purposes
he would have to refrain from building anyth~ in the future right of way for that
service road.
