PARK AND RECREATION <br />SPECIAL MEETING MAY 29, 1979 <br /> <br />Meeting called to order at 7:10 P.M. <br /> <br />Members Present: Doris Irvine, Janice Johnson, John Lichter, Sam Walz <br /> Dick Swanson and Dennis Donovan <br /> <br />The meeting was called to review a five year capital improvement program, and <br />recommend changes for eventual adoption by the Commission and City Counci'. <br />The five year program is a prerequisite for obtaining grant monies through <br />the LAWCON Program. <br /> <br />Considerable discussion about cost estimates, project timing and needs took <br />place. Sam Walz volunteered to revise the capital improvement plan for sub- <br />mission to Council. It was moved by Walz and seconded by Johnson that the <br />revised plan be submitted to Council for comments. The Council's comments <br />will then be acted upon at the regular June meeting. Approved unanimously. <br /> <br />The regular June meeting was moved to Tuesday, June 19, 1979 at 7:00 P.M. <br /> <br />Discussion about the LAWCON Grant Program led to a motion by Johnson and <br />seconded by Lichter to form a LAWCON subcommittee. Approved unanimously. <br />Walz, Johnson, Swanson and Lichter are the subcommittee members. The dead- <br />line for submission of the preliminary LAWCON application is June 29, 1979. <br />The subcommittee's first meeting is June 5, 1979. <br /> <br />Meeting adjourned at 9:50 P.M. <br /> <br />Respectfully submitted, <br /> <br /> <br />
