Page 2 <br />8/6/?9 <br /> <br />it was pointed out by Chairman Peterson that he was originally opposed to <br />increasing the industrially zoned land in Ramsey, but that this would fill <br />in an existing gap along Hwy #10. Also discussed was the opportunity to' <br />aqutre the necessary right of way to extend Industry Blvd. <br /> <br />Motion by Ron West, seconded by John Hubbard to recommend to the City Council <br />to hold the Public Hearing to consider rezoning of said property considering <br />the following findings: <br />1.)Land to the East & West is already industrially zoned. <br />2.) R.R. tracks And Hwy #10 to the South. <br />3.) Area serviced by County Road #83 which should be able to handle industrial <br /> traffic. <br />4.) R. R. c~ossin~ is controlled. <br />5.)Would fill ~ao in industriallM zoned land alon~ Hwy #10. <br />6.) Provide oooortunitM to acauire right of waM for industry blvd. <br />7.) Would provide buffer zone between tracks and residential. Motion carried 7-0. <br /> <br />Sign Permit aoolication' for Roger Raudio <br />Motion by Kathy Schneider, seconded by John Hubbard to recommend to the City <br />Council to grant sign permit to Roger Raudio for sign located on Hwy #47 <br />subject to his meeting local smd state requirements of sign ordinance. <br />Motion carried 7-0. <br /> <br />Sign Permit application for Donald~illett8 <br />Motion by Ken Peterson, seconded by Gerry Zimmerman to recommend to the Council <br />to deny a request by Donald M iltette for a permit to erect a sign on Hwy #10 <br />for a motel in Elk. River for the following reasons: <br />1.)increased highway blight <br />2.)Sign not pertaining to business at that location or even within the City. <br />Motion carried 7-0. <br /> <br /> Sign Permit application and fees <br /> Commission examined various fee schedules from other areas and discussed the <br /> Vos-Way sign on the corner of Industry and Sunfish Lake Blvd as being in <br /> violation of the City sign ordinance. However, it was agreed that there is a <br /> need for an indication of businesses in an industrial park area, and a letter <br />~should be scot to Vos-way informing them of this matter plus suggesting they <br /> examine the possi~ality of applying'for a permit to have sm attractive group <br /> sign for the area. <br /> Motion by Ben Deemer, seconded by Ken Peterson to recommend to the Council to <br /> accept the following fee schedule for sign permits: <br /> THE FOLLOWING SCHEDULE OF FEES FOR SIGN PERMITS IS ESTABLISHED: <br /> 1. Ail newly constructed onsite business and advertising signs: $5.00 for <br /> the first five square feet; $.25 for each addtional square foot thereafter. <br /> Aminimum of $10.00 and a maximum of $50.00 shall apply to each sign. Ail <br /> onsite business and advertising signs existing oprior to the adoption of <br /> this ordinance shall be exempted of such fee. <br /> 2. Ail other signs : 40 square feet or less in area -$25.00; greater than <br /> 40 square feet in area - $50.00. <br /> 3.Fees may be waived by the City Council for signs containing a religious, <br /> Civic, school or public interest subject. <br /> 4.Fees may'be changed by City Council resolution. <br />Also, the attached application for sign permit should be adopted by the City.~P~ <br />Motion carried 7-0. <br /> <br />Proposed Mining Ordinance <br />Motion by Ken Peterson, seconded by B~n Deemer to table this item until members <br />have a chance to examine it further. Motion carried 7-0 <br /> <br /> <br />
