He ex?lained that Dexter reported that "land uses"
are not the same as zoning classifications.

Kathleen Schneider raised a question concerning neighborhood parks
and said she would like clarification on how many are needed and if
this plan is addressing some time in the future, how will the City
proceed to acquire the necessary land. She stressed the importance
of obtaining parkland now if these parks will materialize in the future.

Ben Deemer suggested that the City obtain deeds for the land for park
purposes from developers at the time of land development.

Kath]een Schneider said she would like to see a map on how much land is
needed for these parks, how many, etc., so that determinations can be
made on exactly what is needed.

Gerald Zinmerman commented that this is a guideline for parks and
would pertain to urban-type areas where you have city sidewalks,
that this is a plan for the future when there is sewer and water.

Kathleen Schneider also raised a question concerning the shopping center
issue. What is meant by neighborhood shopping center? Dexter is to
explain this more thoroughly.

Attorney Goodrich is to be contacted in regard to how the City can
proceed with park land acquisition for the neighborhood parks of the
future.

P & Z WORKSHOP
10/16/79 Pg.1 '
