They employ two mechanics in this building. <br />The company does work for the phone company off the site. <br />They park 8 trucks on the site during the night, they are off the <br />site during the working days. The personal vehicles of the men <br />are parked on the site while they are on the job. <br /> <br />The new proposed garage - 40 X 96 feet is to be used for storage of <br />these trucks at night and for some of the equipment and material that <br />is presently outside. <br /> <br />They need a variance on the building because they want to use treated <br />wood poles instead of structural steel and also because the building <br />will be all metal exterior finish with nothing to dress up the exterior. <br />It will be basically the same as the existing building in exterior <br />appearance. <br /> <br />They also want to have the concrete floor in the building waived until <br />sometime this Spring. <br /> <br />Engineering report is to be available for the meeting. <br /> <br />Please refer to the enclosed site plan for improvements. <br /> <br />Building Official Berg has reviewed the construction plans, they do not <br />meet code due to treated poles instead of structural steel and no floor. <br />Also the exterior finish of the building is inconsistent with the code. <br /> <br />The Board of Adjustment will hear this variance request on tomorrow <br />evening. Please make any recommendations you may have for Council's <br />information. <br /> <br /> <br />
