Councilmember introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: RESOLUTION #17-02-045 RESOLUTION TO HIRE TWO PATROL OFFICERS WHEREAS, Sergeant Tom Lueck's last day with the City of Ramsey was December 6, 2016; and WHEREAS, Officer Chris Curtis was promoted to the rank of Sergeant; and WHEREAS, Officer Curtis' promotion created a Patrol Officer vacancy; and WHEREAS, with the approval of the Anoka -Hennepin Narcotics and Violent Crimes Task Force position an experienced Patrol Officer was assigned to the task force creating a second Patrol Officer vacancy; and WHEREAS, staff conducted an internal and external recruitment and recommends hiring Mr. Robert Pullar to fill the first Patrol Officer vacancy and Ms. Melissa Stephens to fill the second Patrol Officer vacancy; and WHEREAS, both newly hired Patrol Officers will be subject to a 1-year probation period; WHEREAS, all other Personnel Policies and union contracts will apply normally. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: and Motion to adopt resolution 17-02-045, hiring Mr. Robert Pullar and Ms. Melissa Stephens as City of Ramsey Patrol Officers, on or near March 1, 2017 at $25.06 per hour which is step 1 of the 2017 wage scale. The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember , and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: and the following voted against the same: and the following abstained: and the following were absent: Whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted by the Ramsey City Council this the 14th day of February, 2017.
