Mr. William Easley, 4910 - l?gth Avenue N.W.

Mr. Easley said he was the lucky recipient of the drain. He asked if there
are any prgvision in the culvert for an apron.

City Engineer Raatikka said the city would provide some sort of erosion control
there.

Mr. Easley asked if they would be putting a Class V Gravel on the shoulders
or what.

City Engineer Raatikka said it will be a ClassV Gravel.

Mr. Ty Crawford, 17852 Yakima Street N.W.

Mr. Crawford noted the proposed road does not come to his house.

City Engineer Raatikka said his street has never been accepted by the city,
and any upgrading of it would cost a considerable amount of money as it would
require quite a bit of excavation.

Mr. Crawford asked if someone is surveying by him.

Mayor Gamec said neither the City Engineer. nor the City Street Department
has done any surveying in his a~ea.

Mr. Crawford said it doesn't help him to have a little piece of gravel road
between his driveway and the pavement. He felt itshould be done if the
street improvement project goes through. He noted his road never gets plowed
or graded.

Mayor Gamec said the city may have to handle his.road separately.

City Engineer Raatikka said upgrading his road would increase the project
cost by $6000 and the street is not going to go any place. Mainly, the
road serves two people.

Mr. Crawford noted he will still be charged and assessed'for this project.

Ms. Karen Bruce, 4903 - 178th Lane N.W.

Ms. Bruce asked if Mr. Crawford's street is.all gravel now, wouldn't it
drag onto the blacktop and do more damage if it isn't tarried.

Mayor Gamec said that section would require more maintenance, but it is
a hard question to answer.

Ms. Bruce said she felt if there is a piece not tarred' and gravel dragged
onto the tar, damage would be done to the tarred road.

Mayor Gamec said if it is upgraded and the city does plowing of that area,
the city would have to put in a turnaround area there which would be an added
cost also.

Mr. Crawford noted he hasn't'complained over the past seven years when he
has not been plowed or serviced and now he is being told he doesn't have a street.

Public Hearing
June 16, 1980
Page 2
