Mayor Gamec said the City is going to need someone from the County to assist. Councilman Cox said the City of Ramsey has socioeconomic needs that don't exist in some of the other communities in the County and the city 'should be getting its share for developing new programs. The city should not have to provide a highly technical person in order to do this. Mayor Gamec suggested putting this matter on the agenda for the special council meeting of October 15, 1980 and instructing city staff to find out what the fee would be to hire someone who is familiar with writing up grant applications. Councilman Cox said the city could spend $10,000 and over to hire someone to write this up and then end up with a goose egg. He said the council thought this was going to be administered at the County level. The meeting recessed at 8:15 P.M. The meeting was called back to order at 8:20 P.M. Councilman Sorteberg said he didn't know how formal the grant application should be. Building Official Berg said the city can make an application and they will send it back and let the city know what they did wrong. City 'Administrator Schnelle said some of the communities in the County are receiving $30 per person in State Aids and Ramsey is receiving $9.00 per person. Officials in Ramsey have a hard time getting an audience with the Governor, but the larger communities have no problem. APPROVAL OF AGENDA Motion by Councilman Reimann and seconded by Councilman Cox to approve the agenda with additions in the addendums. Motion carried.
