Voting no-None. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec asked if the City should put up a sign on Highway 47 & Industry Blvd. <br />giving directions to City Hall. <br /> <br />City Administrator Schnelle said the City should put up the normal green <br />Highway sign with the population on it that the State recognizes. He <br />said people don't know where Ramsey is, but they know where Andover is <br />because Amdover has the green sign. <br /> <br />City Administrator Schnelle said there is light industry in the B-1 <br />zoning area along Highway 10. He said back in the township days, they <br />didn't restrict to B-1 use out there and now there is light industry <br />there. He said the council made a policy in the past year where a grocery <br />store could be put in an industrial area, but industry couldn't be put <br />in a B-1 zoning area. <br /> <br />Councilman Cox said he didn't think the City should encourage business <br />that would promote high volume of traffic in that area. <br /> <br />City Administrator Schnelle said the alternative would be to come up <br />with light industry zoning there, then to come up with what the council <br />would want in that zoning. <br /> <br />Councilman Sorteberg asked if the council wants the City to be a place <br />where people can zip through or a place where people can shop. He <br />said he thought Industrial Boulevard was the' city's prime development <br />area. <br /> <br />City Administrator Schnelle said the B-1 zoning there is creating a paper <br />monster. A lot of those businesses out there are not B-i. The zoning <br />ordinance creates a problem. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilman Reimann and seconded by Cou~cihan Sorteberg to <br />looking into changing B-1 zoning on Highway l0 from Ramsey Boulevard <br />to Sunfish Lake Boulevard. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Rambler). <br /> <br />City Administrator Schnelle said he thoug~Athe zoning ordinance change <br />should be done at the regular council meetings.
