Merle Mevissen <br /> <br />OLhers Present: <br /> <br />Jean Schlueter <br />Howard Carson <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec called the special meeting to order at 7:42 P.M. Councilme~er <br />Van Wagner led in the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag. <br /> <br />A[~I~ROVAL OF AGENDA <br /> <br />~ayor Gamec stated that the purpose of this meeting is to approve the 1983 <br />City Operational Budget. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Van Wagner and seconded by Councilmember Reimann to <br />approve the agenda. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Sorteberg, Reimann, <br />Van Wagner. Voting No: None. Absent: Councilmember Cox. <br /> <br />COUNCIL BUSINESS <br /> <br />Case #1: Approval of 1983 City Operational Budget: <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec stated that there has been some incidence in contract negotiations <br />where contracts have been written and presented and then changed, and that we <br />must make sure that the contracts are recorded correctly. Mayor Gamec <br />suggested that final approval of the original printed contract should be <br />signed by Council. <br /> <br />Councilmember Sorteberg inquired if there were any provisions for land acquisi- <br />tion in the budget. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec stated that land acquisition would come from Contingencies. <br /> <br />Council then reviewed Page 1 of the Budget (Cover Sheet) and noted that the <br />mil rate for 1983 will probably be even to or maybe even lower th~ that of <br />1982. It was also noted that the figures on Page 1 did not include fiscal <br />disparities.
